Cycle routes

The circuits

Get on your bike and cycle along theses circuits. From the easiest to the most challenging routes, you’ll be spoilt for choice. On the programme: lakes, rivers, long hills (of which there are quite a few!) and beautiful panoramas!

All cycling enthusiasts should pick up this free guide, available online or from Tourist Offices. This edition covers the whole of the Orne department and includes 41 circuits ranging from 16.7 km to 70 km, plus 2 greenways.

Our region has been awarded the Territoire VĂ©lo label (by the French Cycling Federation). Welcoming cycle tourists and our commitment to this booming tourist industry are our priorities. We’re developing routes and increasing the number of facilities that have been awarded the “Accueil vĂ©lo” label (link to the “Accueil vĂ©lo” page), and we’re doing everything we can to give cyclists the best possible welcome!

The region is ideal for cycling. We tend to think of Normandy as being fairly flat, so when you're on your bike you quickly realise that it's like a mid-range mountain in the middle of the bocage countryside, especially on the climbs, which can be up to 5 kilometres long and have gradients of 25%. There can be some pretty demanding roads but it's all very pleasant nonetheless!
