Walks in Suisse Normande around La Roche d'Oëtre

Get your hiking boots on! The Suisse Normande is yours, with its sunken lanes and the paths lined with dry stonewalls are all yours! Your playground consists of 26 circuits, 200km of marked trails, 5 themed routes, many of which are suitable for families. The routes on offer include the Roche d’Oëtre and the Rouvre gorges, the emblematic natural area of Suisse Normande, the Noireau and Vère valleys and the hedged farmland paths in the Athis-de-l’Orne area. Take your pick!

Around Flers

At the gateway to the Suisse Normande, come and enjoy 20 walking routes (including two through the centre of Flers) that are as varied in terms of topography and setting as they are rich in natural and architectural heritage, bearing witness to the area’s historical and industrial past (textiles in the north and mining in the south), as well as to the agricultural activity that is essential to the life of this area.

Each has its own difficulties but also its own special features. Some are suitable for a short stroll, whilst others involve a bit of effort. Whatever the walk, you’ll discover the natural environment that is still very much present. Come and enjoy the circuits, or take the long paths through a beautiful range of varied landscapes: meadows bordered by hedges, streams, forests, steep hills and sunken lanes. To help you choose, look out for the pictograms on the leaflets: they will tell you the theme of the routes, i.e. sporting, family, nature, heritage or “coup de cœur”.

The GR® Tour of the Suisse Normande

The GR® Tour de la Suisse Normande (TSN) is a 113-kilometre circuitous trail straddling the departments of Calvados and Orne.
Along this trail, you’ll encounter breathtaking panoramas at Les Rochers de la Houle, le Pain de Sucre or La Roche d’Oëtre.
The route can be split into 6 stages, with stops in Thury-Harcourt (Le Hom), Clécy, Pont d’Ouilly, Saint Philbert sur Orne and Condé en Normandie, so if you are feeling fit and are ready, then you’re sure to fall under the spell of this route!
